Four on Friday...

1. E was very disappointed when I told her today WASN'T the last day of school -- somehow, she'd be under the impression that it was. However, their last day is nominal, and other than final report cards, they'll be doing nothing other than partying ;)

2. I made my summer schedule yesterday. I don't know how long we'll stick to it, but I feel calmer knowing it's on paper. Plus, D will be glad to see it (he must get that from me, I guess...I do handle having some sort of schedule better than just nothing. In fact, when I was a teenager -- probably junior high -- I remember making a schedule for my vacations which involved a ton of reading, because I couldn't handle the hours and hours of 'free' time).

3. I'm going through a weird phase in my reading right now. Nothing sounds that exciting to me, and I'm staring at all these great books I have without really wanting to open any of them. So I might be doing some rereading for a bit...

4. DH and I officially started dating on Memorial Day in '98. I always think fondly of this weekend because of that :) (I bet he doesn't even remember it, however.) We were supposed to get together -- and he was going to call me. When 11 am rolled around and I still hadn't heard from him, I called him -- and got his answering machine, which said, "If this is Robin..." and then went on to offer reasons why he wasn't at home (visiting with his grandma) and when he would return because he really did want to spend time with me. :) It all worked out (ha).

Happy Memorial Day weekend!!

A memorable weekend ... typical guy though ... leaves a message for you on HIS answering machine instead of calling. Heh ... lucky for him you called ;o)

School in this area seems to run until mid-June ... crazy

Yeah, back then I didn't know that when he says he'll call, he really means he'll be waiting for me to call him ;)

Awww! How sweet that he customized his answering machine message for you. And how sweet that he was visiting his grandma :) You got a good guy!

But yeah, beachdog has a point -- why didn't DH just call YOU to tell you that? ;)

He still doesn't like to initiate calls -- so I often just call him to save time ;)

I just have to smile at that answering machine message. Such a guy thing, eh!

I know that reading thing well--I haven't been into much fiction lately. But then something will come along that you just can't put down...
Happy start of summer to you!

I'm hoping to find something I can't put down -- love when that happens!

Hope the winter leaves soon :)

Someday, I'll have to actually try out adult books...right now, I'm only aware of YA (for the most part) :)

What a sweet and romantic story!! My kids wont have summer vacation until the second week of July. But I'm right now searching for summer activities to go a couple of hours a day because overhere they can play out without me so they need some activities.a good weekend!

I think it is because we have a month in Christmas, two weeks in Easter and also several holidays. Oh and I forget every month one friday kids don't go to school because of teachers meetings. So I think that's why they end so late.

It feels weird to me with schools getting out before Memorial Day(and starting before Labor Day). Ours go just one more week.

I've been that way with fiction lately, too. Having trouble finding anything that interests me, plot-wise, and rereading books. (My sister says this is a sign that I need to write books, instead. ;>))

I do feel like this (about reading) when something's brewing writing-wise...we'll see ;)

Happy memorial day back at you! It's probably all the romance which is distracting you from reading. Sometimes real life wins.

He changed his outgoing message just for you? *swoons*

I'd think fondly of Memorial Day for that, too!
