Wordless Wednesday...

Our second snow storm this fall (the first was last Weds -- do we sense a trend?) -- neither was *serious* enough to warrant school closure (sadly).

Happy Hump Day!

That is just wrong. So very, very wrong.

Yes ... school should always be closed on snowy days!

Well, yeah, that too. But I was referring to the snow. It's just so very, very wrong to have snow this early. Then again, because I have to deal with central New York winters every year, I hate snow, period. Doesn't matter what time of year it is.

*sigh* Isn't it? Now they're saying single digits tomorrow morning.

The big northeast snowstorm missed us ... one advantage of sticking out in the ocean I guess. 1000's are still without power from the weekend storm.

I think I will move to St Johns

One of my students got to a library and managed to e-mail me about his loss of power. His paper is due tomorrow, but he can't get steady enough power to finish it. Probably better than 'the dog ate it' excuse ;)

Okay, so I think maybe you and I are swapping seasons this year? Last year you had little snow and we had Way Too Much. We had some snow last month, but since then, nothing. It's sunny and supposed to be 40 today...and I'm not complaining!

(I think we have a chance of the stuff later this week, though.)

DH is bumming, because traditionally speaking, if we're getting snow at our house, the mountains are dry...perhaps you're like the mountains ;)

I wish I could send him all the snow we get! Once it starts here, it doesn't melt until spring, and our city spends almost nothing on snow removal. Snow in mountains is pretty, but I just hate hate hate driving on an inch of solid ice.

Keep it, please keep it! I'm not ready for snow, even if it is kind of pretty

The kids love it, especially D. I'm not a fan of the cold and wet, but it's definitely pretty :)

How deep does snow have to be before they close the schools?

Usually over 8 inches, but a blizzard warning could do it too. This was maybe 4 inches, and although it was breezy, it wasn't a true blizzard.

I hope the kiddos weren't too sad they didn't get a snow day :)
