...yesterday, I went to a play (God of Carnage) with my dear friend L. The play was interesting (I'm not really a play person), but the best part was the discussion and conversation with my friend. She's an amazing person, and I'm constantly thankful that she's in my life! (We met through D and her daughter, who were in pre-school together.)
...today, DH is explaining what Memorial Day is for the kiddos. They've never experienced war (of course), and they've also never lost anyone close to them. I'm thankful they don't have a deeper meaning of what this day is yet...
...I'm dragging them on a hike later (dragging being the operative word, sigh), and we're doing some cleaning. Through it all, though, I'm remembering my grandparents (my grandma and grandpa -- mom's parents -- and my grandpa -- dad's dad), along with other impactful people I've lost. And definitely giving thanks and offering prayers for all those who have died defending this country.
I hope it's a day of peace, remembrance, and love for you!
