2. We heard yesterday that Outdoor Lab has been drier than the rest of us -- so we're relieved! D most likely had an amazing time, but they did have to leave early today. So many roads in the mountains are closing because of flooding creeks that the highway they're using has become the main one...so it's a little crowded. I'm glad they're thinking of that, I will admit.
3. Yeah, you've probably heard of the flooding here. This week has been unreal -- we never get rain like this! It has not stopped raining for more than 15 minutes at a time since Monday night, and our dry soil was in no position to handle it...and all the creeks -- well, it's a mess. There are towns which have become isolated by the waters flowing around (and in some cases, through) them. My bff L was going to meet me for lunch today, but she lives in the mountains, and they've closed all roads but one (the one D will be traveling on) -- and she can't even reach that one safely! After I pick up D, I'm going to take him down to see Clear Creek (I've posted pics of that before -- the creek right by the library). I'm assuming they'll have the area blocked off if there's any danger, but I haven't heard anything about Clear Creek flooding (thankfully).
4. Both D's and E's sporting events have been cancelled for this weekend. DH is still attempting his mountain bike ride today -- we'll see if it happens or not. Around here, the lawns/fields are simply too saturated to be safe, so I get that. They're saying the system should be moving out late Sunday...of course, my sidewalk just dried out and the sun's peeking through...so maybe :)
Happy Friday the 13th -- how will you make it lucky today? :)
