Today's visit for CO are les fleurs. You won't find the lushness here that is so amazing in other states and countries -- but I love wildflowers, and even some of the annuals that can grow around here are quite beautiful.
Columbine, our state flower (which comes in many colors, but the state colors are the blue-purple and white):
These yellow flowers grow wild along many paths that we hike (I don't know what they're called, however):
You'll find entire meadows of indian paintbrush (the orange) mixed with various other flowers, like lupines (the purple):
And often this type of flower is found near the aspens:
Every year, tulips are planted along Pearl Street mall, in Boulder:
Near my MIL's house, in Crestone, there are indiginous flower farms:
As always, I could go on and on :) The variety and beauty of nature draws me -- I can't wait to see what wonders are found in other places!
