* I didn't make it beyond the first 20 pages.
** I made it to the end, but I either skimmed or skipped large sections.
*** I might have skipped/skimmed, but I liked it and will read it again.
**** I read at least 95% of the book and it was good.
***** I read every word, and I loved it!
Cracked Up to Be, by Courtney Summers ***** This is one of those books -- the kind that attracts readers from all genres, imo. For me, it was the truth of it all that got me. I've known girls like Parker. Courtney nailed Parker's character, her motives. This book reminded me of the movie, Good Will Hunting...that's a good thing :)
The Girls, by Tucker Shaw *** This is supposedly a teen version of the play, The Women. I haven't seen the play or the movie. The book is okay for me. An easy read. (releases 4/09)
Don't Judge a Girl by her Cover, by Ally Carter ***** Loved it! This is my favorite of the three, and I loved the other two, as well :D Now I can't wait for the next one -- it's going to be way too far off! (releases 6/09)
A Match Made in High School, by Kristin Walker ****+ This was great fun -- and it shares some good wisdom about relationships! I read it while working out, and I kept laughing so loud the other exercisers stared at me :) Fiona's a hoot, and I loved the secondary characters, as well -- nicely done! walkwrite (releases 5/09)
Somebody, by Nancy Springer ***+ Definitely an interesting look at a girl who grew into teenage-hood in an atmosphere of repression. She doesn't know what a decent self-esteem looks like...for me, it was a little to spare, not enough delving into the whys and hows of Sherica's life. (releases 4/09)
