DH is working on our rental (sad to say), but kiddos and I decided to venture into the foothills and see the gold. There's something about the glittering leaves...sigh. It's truly a natural high for me.
We drove around, and then when the kids got tired of me constantly ooh-ing and ahh-ing, I pulled onto a side road and we went for a walk. This is what we saw:
The kids picked those tickly weeds (don't know what they're called) and pretended to tickle each other and the rocks (E's idea) like Grandpa does. Then they sat and 'posed' for me...but this pic is when they got tired of that:
We listened to the loud grasshoppers, which were flying around and calling to each other. The creek burbled in the meadow, and the breeze whispered through the trees. It was heavenly. Our Colorado sky is back, and I'm convinced that good things will come our way -- indeed, they already have!
I hope such beauty for each of you in the days to come!
