Book Reports (93-97)...

For those of you who happened to Google your title and ended up here, please know that one star is not a bad thing in Robin's world -- just the fact the I picked up your book and started it means that somewhere it's getting good buzz (or that your blurb was really cool). 'R' means it's a re-read.

* I didn't make it beyond the first 20 pages.
** I made it to the end, but I either skimmed or skipped large sections.
*** I might have skipped/skimmed, but I liked it and might read it again.
**** I read at least 95% of the book and it was good -- definitely will be reread.
***** I read every word, and I loved it! A favorite!

The Squad, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
The Squad: Killer Spirit, by Jennifer Lynn Barnes R ***** I definitely enjoy these books by jenlyn_b. They're so much fun (and I wish she was writing more!).

The Straight Road to Kyle, by Nico Medina *** This was interesting, but I had a hard time relating to some of the characters.

The Hook-up Artist, by Tucker Shaw **** I read an ARC by Shaw earlier this year, and for me, this one is better! I really liked the MC and his two best friends -- and I thought their relationship ins and outs were intriguing.

Drop, by Lisa Papademetriou ** I picked this up because of her earlier book (whose title I can't recall, but it ended with 'Two Girls from Jersey') -- and that book was a favorite! This one, however...um, not so much. I loved the humor in the other one, and this one seemed strangely humorless. Plus, as a non-gambler, I guess I couldn't really relate to any of the characters. I did like how one of them overcame her demons by the end, however.
