I feel very fortunate for our neighbors. We're on a corner, so our only 'official' neighbors are to the east and north -- but we're good friends with those across the street to the south and west, as well.

Today, those to the west had a friend over to chop down their dying aspen tree -- and they offered to take care of our hated Russian olive, as well. Here's a pic of what happened all too often with that tree:

Snow, wind -- everything caused one (or more) of its branches to break and fall over the fence and sidewalk in such a manner that it was a nuisance. Plus, I'm just not a huge fan of their appearance -- aspen trees, they are NOT.

Here's what it looks like today:

DH (and our neighbor to the north) took care of the twigs and such, and now there's no nuisance on the corner of our lot. Yay :)

Most of all, this reminds me how blessed we are in our neighbors -- we all look out for each other. It's a good group of people right here...makes me smile :)
