d running

It's that time of year again -- National Novel Writing Month!

I've done this numerous times in the past, and I've 'won' twice. This year, I'm actually going into it with the goal of starting and finishing a new I'm excited and nervous, all at once. I've outlined my first few chapters, and I have the setting and cast of characters all set out.

So why haven't I started? Well...I'm a bit of a procrastinator, truth be told. Part of me wants to savor the excitement without adding in any of the frustration that (tends to) comes with actually starting to get the words on the page. But I will start. In fact, once I finish this post, I'm going to open my document and type in "Chapter One."

*has butterflies*

Anyone else trying this (or something else to keep their writing going)? How do you get yourself in the mood?
