e on ground

Thankful for...

...breaks. Being an introvert means that it doesn't take much to put me at the edge of enough. With all the busy-ness in life, it's easy to start feeling like being at the edge is normal -- and I don't want to be like that.

Yesterday was lovely. E had a playdate after her testing, and D went on a long bike ride. It was just me (and DH), just like it is during school -- except I didn't have to worry about kiddos coming home or going to school to deal with this or that. I got all caught up (and then some) with work, and I had time to finish a good book and make a leisurely dinner.

Today, we're back at it, and I'm scheduled to help out in E's class, and D has basketball practice tonight...but I'm trying to hold onto that feeling of freedom from yesterday. Plus, I can look ahead and see the three-day weekend coming.

What do breaks mean for you? I know our neighbor hates them because they make her feel off-kilter (and she has three kiddos, ages 6, 4, and 2). For parents who work outside the home, they're also challenging.

Peace to you this Thursday!
