Weekend Roundup...

...D got home a little earlier than planned (they were worried about the roads) on Friday, and he and I had a nice lunch where he regaled me with stories of his amazing week. The other outdoor lab campus had to be evacuated by air (*not* D's) -- ack! I did get some pictures of Clear Creek, which runs through Golden:

...the sun stayed out on Friday until evening, when a hail storm came along (that was fun). But the skies after were gorgeous:

...Saturday was also quiet. It wasn't rainy (yay), though the clouds seemed to be hovering over the foothills. I got a couple hours alone (just wandering about), and then we all went out for a b-day dinner at one of my favorite restaurants (Jose O'Shea's).

...yesterday, we had our monthly brunch at my parents' house. It was again raining (hard and steady), but we had fun indoors (well, E and her cousins played in the rain for a while), and the guys hung out watching football for a bit. Then we came home, and while I worked (fun times), D and DH watched the Broncos win. we're back to regularly scheduled life -- and I feel very fortunate that we can say that! So many folks around Boulder, Lyons, Estes Park, Loveland, etc are displaced from their homes and their's going to be a long clean-up (they're saying up to a year for parts of the mountains where the infrastructure has been destroyed). It's still misty here, but we're trusting the sun will actually reappear before noon, as forecasted.

Happy Monday!
