Book Reports (23-26) ...

Because I've had trouble keeping up with my reading, I'm going to change my book report style a bit. Now I'm aiming to write reviews on Goodreads and simply post the link here. But I'm also going to change my star system:

* = Just not for me
** = Interesting premise but not engaging enough to complete
*** = Okay; didn't love but liked enough to finish (or at least skim)
**** = Good; liked the writing style and/or the plot enough to stick with it
***** = Loved; will definitely keep and/or re-read

Love a la Mode, by Stephanie Kate Strohm -- YA contemporary romance -- a story about two teens who win the right to attend culinary school in Paris and how they handle the challenges, both food-related and personal

Honor Among Thieves, by Rachel Caine and Ann Aguirre -- YA sci-fi -- a story about a future earth where giant space creatures called Leviathan have rescued humanity from itself and asked only that 100 young people each year travel with them and discover the universe ... and a girl named Tara who is an unlikely Honor (and who bonds with her Leviathan in unusual ways) and who discovers secrets that have been hidden from both species

Blind Side, by Josh Lanyon -- adult male/male mystery -- a story about Will and Taylor (book 6 in the series) who take on a new client who happens to be Taylor's ex

Tender Mercies, by Eli Easton -- adult male/male contemporary -- a story about Eddie, who buys a Lancaster, PA, farm to build an animal sanctuary, and Samuel, an Amish man who is shunned by him family because he's gay

I haven't done nearly as much reading as I'd hoped ... first, I was incredibly busy with work. Then, once everything stopped (though not my work, thankfully), I was distracted by worries and anxiety -- though I'm learning to live in the now and take deep breaths. :)
