Book Reports (38-42) ...

Because I've had trouble keeping up with my reading, I'm going to change my book report style a bit. Now I'm aiming to write reviews on Goodreads and simply post the link here. But I'm also going to change my star system:

* = Just not for me
** = Interesting premise but not engaging enough to complete
*** = Okay; didn't love but liked enough to finish (or at least skim)
**** = Good; liked the writing style and/or the plot enough to stick with it
***** = Loved; will definitely keep and/or re-read

Moving Maverick, by Lucy Lennox -- m/m romance -- Maverick has to return to his hometown to settle up his grandmother's estate when she dies (even though he still resents her for putting him in the foster care system); Beau's grieving the loss of the a wonderful woman (Mav's grandmother), but he still remembers his first love (Mav).

Game Changer, by Rachel Reid -- m/m hockey romance -- Scott's hid his sexuality his entire life, but when he meets Kip (who makes smoothies), he's suddenly in love and questioning the next step.

Oliver Ever After, by Spencer Spears -- m/m romance -- Luke and Ollie briefly dated (in secret) in high school, but now seven years later, they both get bribed into attending an odd-year reunion -- which gives one a chance to try to make amends, while the other must decide if he'll forgive.

Absolution, by Sloane Kennedy -- m/m/m romantic mystery -- Jonas is trying to find a good life (after a tragic past), Mace is trying to exorcise his demons (and has been hired to kill Jonas), and Cole just wants to find out what happened to his sister while he was away serving his country; when the three of them meet, suddenly all that matters is their unusual connection.

Enemies of the State, by Tal Bauer -- m/m political thriller -- as President of the US, Jack (a widower) is resigned to being lonely, but he tries to befriend the head of his security detail (Ethan) anyway; eventually through all the challenges and political danger they face together, they fall in love and must figure out how to move forward.
