Weekend Roundup...

...I had a lovely day with my mom on Friday -- I feel very blessed to have such a strong relationship with her. She's pretty much my best friend.

...on Saturday, during the beautiful weather (mid-70s), DH's aunt and boyfriend took the kiddos on a long bike ride. I stayed here and worked (sigh), but at least I got stuff done. ;)

...Saturday night, one of E's classmates had a huge party. I guess he does this every year, and his moms go all out. There had to be well over 50 kids there (probably 30+ families). The parents all dress up too (I went as my college self -- I don't really do dress up). I was a little nervous about it, since I'm not big on socializing. But I ended up hanging out with good friends for most of it -- I'd forgotten that D's best friend and family would be there (their second son is in E's class this year). We didn't leave until 9:45 because another mom (whose daughter is good friends with E, although they're no longer in class together) snagged me around 8:45, and we haven't had a chance to chat in a long time. So all in all, it was a nice night, although I will admit to feeling anxiety when I got home. I get post-party nerves too (yeah, I'm truly an introvert). It took me a while to set it aside and let myself sleep.

...yesterday, the kiddos went to their auntie's house for some fun, and I had peace and quiet to get more work done. I just started the second fall session and picked up ten more students than I had last session, so I have to stay on top of things.

...sleep issues are continuing -- and I'm looking into different ways to conquer them. I'm thinking of napping each afternoon for a short time to help make up for the deficit. I don't know why I can't seem to sleep at night, but we're going on four weeks of poor sleep now, so something's got to change. On the plus side, the magnesium oil that I started using twelve days ago is definitely helping with the muscle twitches (which were keeping me awake before). Sadly, now it's just my spinning mind which won't let me sleep (sigh). I stopped drinking SleepyTime tea a while back, so that's another thing I'm going to pick up again.
