Today I realized that although I don't have an agent yet, and although the ups and way-low-downs of this business are very tough on me mentally (emotionally), I'm so thankful that I ended up here. Yeah, I love to write -- that's a given. But the here that I mean is being in the game -- writing, subbing, weeping (tee-hee), and hopefully, someday, publishing.
I was fortunate enough to spend yesterday morning with jennifer_d_g. Yes, we chatted about writing stuff -- but I know I can Jennifer anything. She's one of those precious people who accepts a complete person. And she is one of my closest friends -- whom I might never have met if I hadn't jumped into this writing game.
shaelise is another such friend, who also happens to write. We met almost two years ago through SCBWI -- we arranged to meet at a Barnes & Noble and exchange manuscripts. Little did I know how sympathetic -- and amazingly creative -- she was (and is)!
Online friends, LJ and Verla friends, are also a huge blessing. I haven't met nearly as many of you as I would like (because that would be all of you) -- but I'm so thankful that you're in my life! Not only those who have put themselves out to read my writing, but also those who just comment now and then, those who remind me that I'm not alone in this craziness.
So whether or not I'm one of the 'lucky' ones who ends up with published book(s), I'm still the luckiest one...because of all of you! Thank you, my friends. Have a lovely weekend!
