Four on Friday...

1. Well, we've hit that part of the summer when the kiddos begin to snipe at each other almost constantly. *sigh* I guess it's a good thing school starts on Monday (even though that means that I'll be getting up crazy early again).

2. D and his four closest friends are having a campout at D's bff's farm tonight. They tried for this a little earlier, but it ended up being only D and M. Now, all five of them are making it work, and I think it'll be a great end to their days as elementary students together. Starting Monday, they'll be off to three different middle schools, and their time together will be limited to holidays and breaks. D plays football with one of them (C) -- the same one he'll be attending middle school with. Hopefully, he'll ski with the other three, but that's always iffy (especially this year, when they have to buy passes -- their passes have been free the past two years). The plan is for him to continue playing basketball with his bff M come November, but I suspect that will depend quite a bit on M's schedule (he's going to a private school some distance away). Times, they are a-changin'.

3. I played tennis with D yesterday. It was rather humid and warm (um, hot), and D beat me solidly. But it was still fun, and it could be our last tennis match of the summer (football will be taking over!). I feel very blessed to be able to share that with him (and E -- and the whole family, really).

4. I've written ~4K on my WIP the past couple of days. That's the most I've written in a while. Now, I just need to keep it up throughout the rest of the month (before my classes begin in September). I'd love to actually finish something (it's been a long time...I've let the discouragement of constant rejection stop the writing, I think).

Hope it's a good weekend for all! Any plans?
